Custom Furniture Uplift Request Form

Custom Furniture Uplift Contract

  • Painting projects will take place in the Girasole Studio located at my home in Summerville, SC, unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Labor is billed at a rate of $30/hour.
  • A flat supply fee of $50 will apply to large projects (dressers, buffets, dining tables, armoires, etc.) and covers paint, waxes, brushes, wood filler, sandpaper, etc.
  • A flat supply fee of $25 will apply to smaller projects (end table, smaller chest, small bench, etc.) and covers paint, waxes, brushes, wood filler, sandpaper, etc.
  • Customer is responsible for drop off and pick up of piece on specified date and times at Girasole Home studio. Upon receipt of this custom furniture quote, your drop-off date will be reserved for 48 hours. Due to demand, we will move your project date forward if you are unable to drop off in the designated period.
  • Pickup and delivery can be arranged for a fee and is limited to a 25-mile radius of studio location. Pick and delivery are also limited to first-floor, outdoor locations only (front door or garage). Girasole, LLC is not able to deliver inside of homes unless special arrangements have been made in advance. *Please arrange for your own help if you need furniture moved from a second floor or from inside your home prior to pick up/delivery.
  • If repairs are needed that were not part of the quote, Girasole, LLC will contact you for authorization to make repairs and adjust quote if necessary.
  • Due to extreme heat and weather conditions, repairs, and supply needs, your project may require an extra day or two to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you if your completion date changes.
  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon project acceptance. This deposit holds your project appointment. Payment can be made via invoice using Venmo, Facebook Pay or bank transfer. Girasole, LLC also accepts cash or check payments.
  • Customers have 14 business days to pick up their finished pieces. After 14 days, a $10 storage fee will apply each day. After 30 days, furniture not claimed becomes the property of Girasole, LLC and will be resold or donated.
  • I agree to allow Girasole, LLC to use any and all photographs of myself, my furniture, and all items related to this work order for business and website purposes.
  • Lastly, most furniture has been loved by many homes and hearts. Therefore, all used furniture comes with bumps and bruises that tell its own unique story. My furniture is all hand-painted (I do not use a sprayer) and will often have the unique marks that come from old-fashioned hand-techniques. Please allow some artistic license when it comes to achieving the desired look take age and imperfections into consideration. Afterall, that’s what we love about old furniture!

Furniture Painting Classes

Want to learn the basics of furniture painting from a real person and not a YouTube video? Want to create a fun, small group night with the ladies and walk away with all the tools you’ll need to start turning garbage to gorgeous? I’ll show you the basics of furniture painting in a casual, fun way!

Classes include light refreshments, an 8 oz. jar of Dixie Belle paint in your choice of color, paintbrush, and takeaway information.

Classes are two hours in length – $75/per person.

Groups of 6-10 participants. Locations vary.

Service Estimates

Girasole Home offers custom paint “uplifts” including pick-up and delivery within the greater Charleston area. Each piece is brush-painted by hand just like they did decades ago. Imperfections are what make old pieces unique and help tell their story. Lumps and bumps are to be expected as these beauties have often been around a while and loved by many people! I do my best to repair damage, but often bumps and bruises are just part of their journey!

The paint applied can be mineral (chalk or clay) or interior latex depending on color choice and the material composition of your piece. I ensure that each piece is given a durable finish by glazing, sealing, or waxing to ensure longevity. Keep in mind that even the most well-primed, painted furniture is not water-proof or immune from wear and tear. I encourage you to take good care of your piece just as you would a fine wood furniture piece—using coasters and runners will help prolong her life. If you wish to have a special finish applied to piece such as crackling or dark wax, additional fees will apply.

50% of the cost is due at the time the contract is signed and the remaining balance is due at the time of pick up. Contract will be included at the time of estimate proposal.

*Pick up and delivery costs are based on location and are limited to first floor/garage level pickups and drop-offs. Please make sure you arrange help if you need to move your piece to or from a second floor.
